Panagiotis Theofilis is a resident cardiologist in the First Department of Cardiology "Hippocratio" G.H.A. He received his PhD at the University of Athens Medical School in 2023 and has been involved in research projects since 2017. His current research interests involve atherosclerosis and its associated risk factors, hypertension, and the heart–kidney interaction as well as the role of microRNAs in cardiovascular disease. He has authored more than 110 manuscripts published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Dimitris Tousoulis received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Athens Technology University in 1979. He obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from Athens University in 1985 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from London University in 1996. He works in the First Department of Cardiology, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens University Medical School, Hippokration Hospital, Athens, Greece. His research topics mainly include the following: medicine, pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics. He has authored 1130 publications with 29275 total citations and an h-index of 80 (Scopus, 10 January 2024).
