Dr. David S Allan is a clinician-researcher with the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at TOH, the University of Ottawa; and in the Regenerative Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology Programs at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He is a graduate of Queen’s University and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Hematology at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario. As a post-MD Research Fellow, he studied the regenerative function of hematopoietic stem cells, and he completed a clinical fellowship in blood and marrow transplantation at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital in Montreal. His fields of interest are vascular progenitors, regenerative therapy, blood stem cells, blood and marrow transplantation, and microbiology.
Dr. Harinad B Maganti is a Research Scientist at Canadian Blood Services in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa (Ontario, Canada). He completed his Master of Science degree in Microbiology at McMaster University and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology and Stem Cell Biology at the University of Ottawa. Following that, he also received postdoctoral training in neuroscience at the Hospital for Sick Children as well as postdoctoral training in hematology and stem cell biology at Canadian Blood Services. He focuses on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSC). The overarching goal of his laboratory work is to discover novel molecular programs/bioengineering technologies that lay the foundation for the development of new HSC products for cellular therapy.
