Dr. Aristo Vojdani obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. in the fields of microbiology and clinical immunology from Bar-Ilan University, Israel, postdoctoral qualification in comparative immunology from UCLA, and qualification in tumor immunology from the Charles Drew/UCLA School of Medicine and Science. Dr. Vojdani is a clinical professor at Loma Linda University of Medicine, CA, and an adjunct professor at the National University of Health Sciences, Lincoln College of Professional, Graduate, and Continuing Education. His ongoing research focuses on the role of environmental triggers in complex diseases. His research has resulted in the development of more than 350 antibody assays for the detection of autoimmune disorders and other diseases. Dr. Vojdani holds 17 US patents for laboratory assessments of immune disorders associated with the brain and gut and has published over 200 articles in magazines and scientific journals. He has also published the books "Neuroimmunity and the Brain-Gut Connection" and “Food-Associated Autoimmunities: When Food Breaks Your Immune System”. Dr. Vojdani is the CEO/technical director of the Immunosciences Lab in Los Angeles, CA, and is the chief scientific advisor for Cyrex Labs in Phoenix, AZ. He sits on the editorial board of five scientific journals. Dr. Vojdani has received many awards, including the Herbert J. Rinkel Award (AAEM), the Linus Pauling, PhD Award (ACAM), the PLMI Lifetime Achievement Award, and the 2023 Linus Pauling Award (IFM).
Dr. Koksoy received his MSc and PhD degrees from Ohio State University and his DVM degree from Ankara University, Turkey. He has a High Complexity Lab Director (HCLD) certificate from the ABB (American Board of Bioanalysis) in Diagnostic Immunology. Before joining Cyrex Laboratories in June 2023, Dr. Koksoy worked as a Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, and he was the Founding Director of the Clinical and Research Immunology Laboratory and Flow Cytometry Core at Akdeniz University, School of Medicine, Turkey for over 14 years. There, he developed and validated various state-of-the-art flow cytometric and immunological tests and procedures that meet national and international regulatory standards for the immunological assessment of patients. Dr. Koksoy taught classes in the fields of microbiology and immunology to medical and graduate students and trained many professionals. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals.
Dr. Elroy Vojdani is the founder of Regenera Medical, a boutique functional medicine practice in Los Angeles, California. Upon graduating medical school from the University of Southern California and completing his residency at Keck School of Medicine, Dr. Vojdani began his career as an Interventional Radiologist, diagnosing and treating complex, late-stage cancers and other extremely debilitating diseases. Dr. Vojdani has co-authored a number of articles in the scientific literature and continues to play an integral role in research related to autoimmune, neurodegenerative, and autoinflammatory conditions. Dr. Vojdani is also the co-author of a medical textbook entitled “Food Associated Autoimmunity” and he published his first consumer book in the fall of 2021, titled When Food Bites Back.
Dr. Mark Engelman received his BS undergraduate degree from Ohio State University. He received an M.D. degree from Ohio State College of Medicine. Dr. Engelman was a resident in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Engelman was an Emergency Department staff physician at St. Joseph’s and served as Emergency Department Director for more than 20 years. Dr. Engelman also has the distinction of having been a standby physician for two American presidential administrations, President of the Maricopa County American Heart Association, and Chief Physician for the Arizona Boxing Commission, and he is the Founder and CEO of AmeriMed American Hospitals in Mexico. Dr. Engelman became fascinated with integrative functional medicine. He has earned a Fellowship in Stem Cell Medicine Certification and Advanced Fellowship in Integrative Functional Medicine. Dr. Engelman joined the Cyrex team as a Clinical Consultant to provide his expert guidance on test result interpretation, clinical relevance of results, and possible treatment protocols.

Prof. Aaron Lerner earned his M.D. at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel in 1976. He has obtained Certified Pediatric Gastroenterology, Certified Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Certified Gastroenterologist certifications. From 2005 to 2015, Prof. Lerner served as head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit at Carmel Medical Center. Since 2020, Prof. Aaron Lerner's current academic and professional position has been at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, the Zabludowicz Research Center for Autoimmune Diseases, Tel-Hashomer, Israel. His scientific interests include mucosal immunology, autoimmunity, diagnostic serology, celiac disease, nutritional deficiencies, industrial food additives, intestinal permeability, microbial transglutaminase, microbiomes/dysbiomes/viromes, gluten-induced neurodegeneration, cross-reactivity, and sequence similarity. Prof. Lerner has published more than 370 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
