Shaohua Wang is an Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology, Department of Biomedical Sciences and Infectious & Tropical Disease Institute, Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received her PhD in Microbiology (Probiotics and bacteriophages) from Shandong University in 2010 and completed her Postdoc training in Genomic engineering with Clostridia from Auburn University in 2017. She served as a Research Fellow in Gut microbiome and bacterial infections/aging at Wake Forest University in 2021 and as a Research Associate in Gut microbiome and human health at the University of South Florida in 2022. Her research interests include Bacterial infections, Clostridioides difficile, Probiotics/prebiotics, Genomic engineering, the Gut microbiome, Short-chain fatty acids, Anti-ageing, Bacteriophages, and Antibiotics alternatives. She focuses largely on bacterial pathogen studies, especially Clostridioides difficile.
