Dr. Walter Lilenbaum is a Full Professor of Bacteriology at the Biomedical Institute, Fluminense Federal University. He is a CNPq Scientific Production Fellow, level 1A and Cientista do Nosso Estado by Faperj (since 2008). He received his Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1998. He is currently Associate Editor of Transboundary, Emerging Diseases (Qualis A1) and Animals (Qualis A1). He has published more than 280 scientific articles in international journals, as well as chapters in books on Microbiology and Veterinary Medicine. He has experience in Veterinary Medicine and Microbiology, with an emphasis on Infectious Diseases of Animals, working mainly on Animal Leptospirosis.
