Dr. Stephan Lange is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, University of California, San Diego. He received a Master’s degree from Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, in 2001. He completed his Ph.D. studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2005. He is a member of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) and UCSD Clinical & Translational Research Institute. In 2019, he obtained a Junior Faculty Travel Award from the International Society for Heart Research.
Dr. Yoshitake Cho is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine, University of California, San Diego. He received his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and postdoctoral training in muscle physiology. Currently, he leads a team conducting basic research in the lab. They study mitochondrial and energy metabolic functions in the heart and skeletal muscle. The metabolic abnormality often causes human diseases (ex. heart failure and skeletal muscle disorder). He has successfully obtained funding support from the American Heart Association and NIH.
