Greta M Palmer is a Specialist Anesthetist (FANZCA) and Pain Medicine Physician (FFPMANZCA) working in both fields at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) and Royal Melbourne Hospitals (RMH) in Melbourne, Australia. She completed her medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Melbourne in 1991, did her anesthesia training at RMH and pain fellowship training as a Harvard Rotating Longwood Pain Fellow in 1999/2000. She has been RCH’s Deputy Head of the Children’s Pain Management Service since 2001 and Supervisor of Pain Training. She is an Associate Professor with the University of Melbourne, a Research Associate with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and a Faculty of Pain Medicine examiner. Her areas of clinical interest are acute, subacute and chronic evidence-based and holistic interdisciplinary pain management. Her current research interest/publications concern pediatric chronic pain, the use of electronic medical records to assess and manage pain in hospitalized children and post-surgical pain management. She has edited the fourth and fifth edition of ANZCA/FPM's Acute Pain Management Scientific Evidence.
Tiina Jaaniste is the Head of Research in the Departments of Pain & Palliative Care, Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, Australia. She is also a Conjoint Associate Professor in the School of Clinical Medicine (Paediatrics & Child Health), University of New South Wales, Australia. Tiina Jaaniste earned
a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Hons., a Master of Psychology (Clinical), and a Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales in 1995, 1997, and 2009, respectively.
