Armin Mehrabi is an Associate Professor in the Civil and
Environmental Department of Florida International University (FIU), Maimi, FL,
USA. Before joining the engineering faculty at FIU, he served as the President
and Principal Engineer in Bridge Engineering Solutions specializing in
inspection, evaluation, cable vibration and wind assessment, health monitoring,
and rehabilitation of cable-supported bridges. He has developed non-destructive
evaluation (NDE) and inspection methods for bridge structures and has been
involved in the inspection and evaluation of more than 25 cable-supported
bridges in the US and abroad. He has published extensively on the subject of
the inspection and evaluation of bridges, development of new structural systems,
and testing and seismic analysis of masonry and infilled frames. His current
research includes NDE applications to FRP reinforced/strengthened concrete,
inspection and decision making for post-tensioned bridges, development of
guidelines for bridge inspection, and connections for steel girder bridges. He
is a registered professional engineer.
David Garber graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in
2009 and received his M.Sc. (2011) and Ph.D. (2014) in Structural
Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He used to work as a
Professor at the Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA. He is
currently a Senior Structural Engineer at the Federal Highway Administration
Resource Center, Baltimore, MD, USA. His expertise lies in the fields of
structural analysis, structural stability, concrete technologies, construction
materials, civil engineering materials, and bridge engineering.
