Author Biographies

Prof. Masahiro Kohzuki is the Chairman and President of the Yamagata Prefectural University of Health Sciences (YPUHS) and Professor Emeritus of Tohoku University in Japan. He was the Associate Dean of Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine and held the position of Director of the Rehabilitation Center at Tohoku University Hospital, and Chairman and Professor of Internal Medicine & Rehabilitation Science at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine for 22 years. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Renal Rehabilitation (ISRR) (2020-present) and the Asian Society of Hu-man Services (2015-present). He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Japanese Society of Renal Rehabilitation (JSRR) (2011–2021). He was a pioneer in renal rehabilitation and established the JSRR and ISRR. He has received the Hans Selye Medal (2018) and the Japan Kidney Foundation Achievement Award (2022).
