Rana A. Youness is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Biotechnology, German International University. She is mainly interested in non-coding RNAs, gasotransmitters, and immunomodulatory nanocarriers. She has received several awards, most notably the State Incentive Award in Medical Sciences, the EASL Merit award (for three consecutive years), and the ESMO Merit Award for young investigators (for 8 consecutive years).
Nour Khater is a regulatory affairs expert responsible for overseeing lifecycle maintenance activities and new marketing authorization applications for pharmaceutical products in GCC markets. She received her bachelor's of science (B.Sc.) and master's of science (M.Sc.) degrees in pharmaceutical science from the German University in Cairo (GUC) in 2018 and 2022, respectively. Her areas o expertise include cancer biology, PCR, cell culture, cancer cell biology, transfection, RNA Isolation, and gene silencing.
Carole Bourquin is a Professor of Immunopharmacology in Cancer at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland. She has authored/co-authored 69 publications with 4986 citations and an h-index of 34 (Scopus, December 2023). Her research interests focus on cancer immunology, cancer immunotherapy, nanoparticles, immunopharmacology, etc.
Prof. Reham Abdel-Kader is currently an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Head of the Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Clinical Pharmacy Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology at the GUC. She first joined the GUC in 2003 as a teaching assistant and then traveled to Frankfurt/Germany in 2004 to pursue her postgraduate studies. She earned her doctoral degree in 2009 at the Institute of Pharmacology, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, Frankfurt am Main. In her academic career, she has successfully supervised more than 30 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, participated in many international conferences worldwide, and earned several research and travel grants.
Mohamed Zakaria Gad is a Professor of Biochemistry and Vice-Dean for Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and he was formerly the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology at the German University in Cairo (GUC). He graduated 1st of 500 pharmacy students at Cairo University in 1983, earned an M.Sc. in biochemistry at Cairo University in 1987, and completed a Ph.D. at the age of 30 at Medical College of Pennsylvania, USA, in 1991. He previously worked as the Head of the Biochemistry department at the GUC, October 6 University, Ain Shams University, and Helwan University; acted as the Vice-Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Ain Shams University and for Academic Affairs at GUC, and was the Chief Coordinator of TEMPUS Curriculum Development Project in Pharmacy at 5 European and 3 Egyptian Universities. He has also received a fellowship from the American Heart Association and the National Promotional Prize in Biomedical Sciences (2002), as well as four grants from the National Academy of Science and a joint grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). He has also supervised more than 50 PhD/MSc theses and is a board member of the Egyptian National Committee of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). He also works as a reviewer for several scientific journals and has issued 104 international publications, 8 books/book chapters, and 117 conference abstracts and presentations, with a SCOPUS H-index of 27.
