Liying Sun has worked as an associate professor at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), since 2016. She holds a degree from Zhengzhou University (1996–2000), a master’s degree from Huazhong University of Science and
Technology (2000–2003), and a PhD from Peking University (September 2004–July 2009).
Right after graduation in 2009, she joined CAS as an assistant professor. She worked
as a research assistant at Peking University from April 2003 to July 2004.
