Georgia Valsami is a Professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics and Director of the Laboratory of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, Department of Pharmacy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Her research focuses on: (i) Drug–macromolecule binding, effect on drug solubility/dissolution/absorption; (ii) Novel dosage forms with optimized absorption (GI/nasal/pulmonary); (iii) PK/PD studies and dosage individualization. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed papers, conference presentations, lectures as an invited speaker, patents and research programs (National and EU funds) and has served as Director of the Division of Pharmaceutical Technology, Department of Pharmacy, NKUA. She is a reviewer for several scientific journals, a Consultant/Scientific reviewer of the Greek National Organization for Medicines (NOM) and a European Expert of EMA through the NOM. She has also served as a member of the Drug Approval Scientific Board of NOM.
Nikolaos PE Kadoglou is a lecturer at the Medical School, University of Cyprus. He received his medical degree from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and obtained the license to use the title of medical specialist in cardiology in 2013. After that, he underwent subspecialty training in inherited cardiomyopathies, heart failure and novel echocardiographic techniques at the Heart Hospital of the University College of London and the Hammersmith Hospital of the Imperial College between 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he was granted by the European Society of Cardiology a fellowship in device implantation at Catharina Hospital, Eindhoven, Netherlands. Between 2017 and 2020, he worked as a departmental fellow in heart failure at the Centre for Statistics in Medicine, NDORMS, Medical Sciences Division, BOTNAR Research Centre, University of Oxford, UK. He has been awarded a master of science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2004), two PhDs from the University of Athens (2008) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2013), respectively, and a post-doc from the University of Athens (2013). His 122 published articles have received a total of 3582 citations with an h-index of 34 (Scopus, 14 December 2023). His research interests include cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, inherited cardiomyopathies and cardiac device implantation.
