Gabriella Maria De Luca is an Associate Professor at the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”, Naples, Italy. She received her Ph.D. in Physics in 2007. She spent part of her PhD at MESA + Institute of Technology (Twente, The Netherlands) and she worked as researcher at CNR (National Research Council, Italy). Her research activities include the field of innovative materials (superconductors, manganites, multiferroics, functional interfaces) in their fabrication and advanced characterization, particularly using techniques with synchrotron light on compounds in the form of thin films, heterostructures, and electronic devices.

Andrea Rubano is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. There, he received his Ph.D. in Fundamental and Applied Physics in 2008; he worked from 2008 to 2010 at the University of Bonn, and from 2010 to 2012 in Berlin, FHI Max Planck Institute, in Germany. His scientific activities are mainly devoted to studying the wide class of materials, denoted as 'Strongly Correlated Electron Systems by means of Linear and Nonlinear Optics'.
