Dr. Giovanni Viroli is currently affiliated with the Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Science—DIBINEM, 1st Orthopaedic, and Traumatologic Clinic, IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, University of Bologna, Italy. He received his Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Università di Bologna in 2018. His research interests are focused on the study of epigenetics; genetics; adolescent idiopathic scoliosis; curve progression; prognostic; osteopenia; sarcopenia; risk factors; surgical site infection; and lumbar spinal fusion.
Dr. Marco Manzetti currently works as a Resident Surgeon in Orthopedics and Traumatology at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli. His main research field is Orthopaedic Surgery, with a particular interest in spine, arthroplasty, shoulder, and orthopaedic basic science. After completing his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pisa (July 2018) with maximum grades, he worked as a visiting fellow (Sagittal balance and spinal deformity fellowship) at CHU de Bordeaux in the Department of Spinal Surgery 2, directed by Pr. Jean Charles Le-Huec. He worked as a continuity care Doctor in mid-2019 for AUSL Toscana Nord-Ovest and in July 2019 he won the national competitive exam to access the resident school in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Bologna, ranking among the first 1000 candidates out of more than 21,000.
