Author Biographies

Luis Manuel Martínez-Aranda achieved his Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at the Universities of Cordoba and Granada (Spain). He also holds a B.Sc. in Psychology, an M.Sc. in High-Performance Sports, an M.Sc. in Physical Conditioning in Football, an M.Sc. in Sports Psychology, an M.Sc. in Physical Activity and Health, and an M.Sc. in Exercise Physiology. Currently, he is continuing his academic training as a medical student at the University of Cordoba. In 2005, he joined the University of Córdoba as a collaborating professor, until completing his doctoral thesis. He has been involved in national and international professional experiences within the teaching and education field, scientific research, as well as physical conditioning and training, in countries such as Canada, the USA, Sweden, and Spain (2003–2017). In February 2017, he joined the Faculty of Sport and the Faculty of Law and Business at the Catholic University of San Antonio in Murcia. He has participated as a member of the research team in 26 research projects, and he has been part of 3 research networks of the Spanish National Sports Council. Since February 2023, he has been working at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain). He is also a review member and editor in specialized and prestigious national and international sports science journals, as well as an international representative of the Spanish Martial Arts Federation and D.A. in Europe.

Francisco Tomás González-Fernández is a professor at the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Faculty of Sport Sciences. University of Granada, Granada, Spain. He completed his international Ph.D. in Biomedicine at the University of Granada, Spain, and his M.S. at the University of Jaén, Spain. His current research interests are cognitive performance in sports, youth sports performance, decision-making in sports, and soccer performance.
