Afonso Henrique Da Silva Júnior completed
his B.Sc. in Agro-industrial Engineering Agrochemistry at School of Chemistry
and Food, Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG, Brazil) and his M.Sc. in
Chemical Engineering at Department of Chemical Engineering and Food
Engineering, Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil). Currently, he
is a Ph.D. candidate in the Postgraduate Program in Chemical Engineering
(PósENQ) at UFSC. He is a member of the research groups TECHNOSYS
(Technological Development of Chemical Systems) and TECTEXTIL (Textile
Technological Development) at CNPq (Areas: Dispersion and Removal of Liquid,
Gaseous and Particulate Pollutants; Processes in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical
Industry; and Rationalization of Use of Water in the Textile Industry) at
PósENQ (LabSIN/LabMASSA-UFSC).
Carlos Rafael Silva De Oliveira has a bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering (2010) from the
State University of Maringá (UEM, Brazil). He received his M.Sc. (2015) and Ph.D. (2020) degree
in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil). Currently,
he is a professor in the Textile Engineering Department at the same university. His research
interests include the development of smart and technical textiles, improving textile industry
processes, natural and synthetic polymers, fiber modification, waste treatment, natural product

Tarcisio Wolff Leal is a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Paraná. Tarcisio Wolff Leal received a Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (2010), a Master's in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2014) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2018). Tarcisio Wolff Leal has experience in scientific research in effluent treatment, advanced oxidation, adsorption of pollutants, food dehydration and food allergens.
Selene Maria de Arruda Guelli Ulson De Souza completed her degree in Chemical Engineering at the State University of Campinas in 1982, her master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the State University of Campinas in 1985 and her doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in 1992. She currently is a Full Professor of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She is a Research Productivity Fellow 1A of CNPq and is the leader of the Research Group registered with CNPq: TECHNOSYS–Technological Development of Chemical Systems. She was an adjunct coordinator of the Engineerings area II, at CAPES, from 2008 to 2014 and a member of the evaluation committee of Engineerings II, at CAPES from 2001 to 2007. She works in the area of Chemical Engineering, with emphasis on Separation and Mixing Operations, Textiles, Oil and Petrochemistry, and Environment.
Antônio Augusto Ulson De Souza is a Professor at the
Department of Chemical Engineering and Food Engineering, Federal University of
Santa Catarina, Brazil. He received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1982, a Master's in Chemical
Engineering at Universidade Estadual de Campinas in 1985, and a Ph.D. in
Mechanical Engineering at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in 1992. He
has experience in chemical engineering, focusing on separation operations,
acting on the following subjects: textile, petroleum, petrochemical, natural
products, mass transfer, environment, computational fluidodynamics, separation
processes, and porous media.
Dr. Antonio Benjamim Mapossa completed his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Pretoria (South Africa), where he also started working as a postdoctoral researcher. Currently, he is a research associate in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada, where he is working with a renowned Canadian scientist Professor Uttandaraman (U.T.) Sundararaj, the leader of the Centre for Advanced Polymers and Nanotechnology (CAPNA). His research focus is primarily centered on Materials Science and Engineering with a special focus on the structure, processing, and properties of polymer nanocomposites and nonmagnetic materials towards malaria, agriculture, flooring materials, biodiesel, and water and wastewater applications. He is a Y2-NRF-rated researcher with a sustained record of research productivity and quality research evaluated and benchmarked by the South African National Research Foundation recognized by peers in his field.
Robert Kimutai Tewo is a Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Kenya. He received a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Process Engineering at Moi University in 2009, a Master's in Environmental Science at Tshwane University of Technology in 2015, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Vaal University of Technology in 2020. His research interests include advanced and applied materials, clean Technologies, and environment and water utilization management.
