Dr. Eihab Abdelfatah is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine. He completed his MD at Rutgers University, New Jersey Medical School, in 2012, where he also completed his general surgery residency training. He completed fellowships in minimally invasive thoracic oncology and complex general surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY. He has board certifications from the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology. His research interests are focused on cancers of the esophagus, GE junction, stomach, and hepatopancreaticobiliary system. In addition to patient care, his research interests include the impact of frailty on perioperative and oncologic outcomes and the role of prehab in frail surgical oncology patients. He is also studying peripheral blood markers for response to immune checkpoint inhibitors.
