Diego Ruano is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the School of Pharmacy, University of Seville and Institut of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS). He received his Ph.D. at the University of Seville in 1993. His research focuses on the study of the hippocampal aging process and the neurodegeneration mechanisms that could be relevant for the development and or progression of age-related neurodegenerative disorders, mostly Alzheimer’s disease. His lab has made significant contributions to the molecular aspects of normal and pathological aging processes.
