Clara Bonanad is a researcher at INCLIVA Health Research Institute. After completing her specialization in Cardiology and earning her PhD, she received a Rio Hortega contract to further her research training. This allowed her to combine active patient care for acute coronary syndrome with clinical and translational research training. She developed her doctoral thesis focusing on the prognostic impact of geriatric syndromes on patients with acute coronary syndrome and earned a distinction of “cum laude”. Clara has also completed a Master’s Degree in Advances in Cardiology and a Master’s Degree in Acute Cardiac Care. She has been the principal investigator for several clinical trials related to cardiovascular risk in high-risk acute coronary syndrome patients, such as the SOLIST, SCORED, and THEMIS trials. Additionally, she has been involved in two competitive projects focused on research related to acute myocardial infarction: a Project for Emerging Groups of the Generalitat Valenciana (File GV/2018/116) and a FIS project of the Carlos III Health Institute (PI20/00637). Currently, she works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine of the University of Valencia. Clara has been the President of the Geriatric Cardiology section of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, a member of the board of directors of the Group of Young Cardiologists, and a member of the Ischemic Heart Disease section of the Valencian Society of Cardiology.
