Alessandro Polizzi graduated in Dentistry at the University of Catania with a first-class honors degree and received his Ph.D. in Dental Surgery at the University of Catania. Three-year certificate in Orthodontics at the University of L'Aquila, Italy. He was involved in several research projects in the fields of Oral Pathology and Medicine, Periodontology, Orthodontics, Oral surgery, and the clinical and molecular aspects of Oral Diseases. He is also a member of the Association of Italian Orthodontics Specialists (ASIO), the International Piezoelectric Surgery Academy (IPA), and an aggregate member of the Italian Association of Dentists (AIO).
Cristina Grippaudo is an Associate Professor in Orthodontics at the Institute of Clinical Dentistry, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. She received her Doctor of Dental Science at the Sapienza University of Rome. She is also a Professor in the graduate Course in Dentistry, in the Course of Speech Therapy, and Director of the Course in Dental Hygiene. Her research interests include Orthodontics, Malocclusion, Occlusion, Primary Failure of Eruption,  Orthodontic treatment need Indexes, Orthodontic Brackets, Bacteria, and Cephalometry.
Salvatore Cocuzza obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Catania in 1997 and in the first session of the year 1998 he qualified to practice as a surgeon at the University of Catania. Then he completed his Ph.D. in Otorhinolaryngological and Audiological Sciences at the same university. He is now an Associate Professor at Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences and Advanced Technologies "GF Ingrassia" ENT Section, University of Catania. He is also a member of the Organizing Committee of numerous scientific journals with national and international circulation, also holding the role of editor and/or reviewer.
Rosalia Leonardi is a Full Professor in Orthodontics, the Head of the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the Department of Orthodontics, and Dean of the Dental School at Catania University. After her Dental Degree from the University of Catania in 1985, she specialized in Orthodontics and received her M.Sc. in Orthodontics from Napoli Federico II University. She is also an experienced lecturer on orthodontics and temporomandibular joint dysfunctions. She was a Visiting Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Helsinki Dental School, and the Orofacial Pain Center, University of Kentucky. Her main interests among others are digital orthodontics, e-learning in orthodontics, craniofacial development and syndromes, dental anomalies, and palatally displaced canine, tooth movement, mediators of tooth movement, tmj disc pathology.
Gaetano Isola is an Assistant Professor of Oral Surgery and Periodontology, School of Dentistry, at the University of Catania, Italy. He completed his Ph.D. in Physiopathology of the Stomatognathic Apparatus and Dental Materials at the University of Turin, Turin, Italy. He is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Laboratory of the Study of Calcified Tissues and Biomaterials, Department of Periodontology, Université de Montréal, Canada and a Visiting Professor at the Department of Periodontology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA and a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Implantology and Oral Surgery at the University of Bern, Switzerland and at the Department of Periodontology of the Eastman Dental Institute, London. He is also an active member of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery (SIdCO) of the International Piezoelectric Surgery Academy (IPA), the Board of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), and member of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP). His research interests include the clinical and pharmacological aspects of periodontitis and on the relationship between oral health and systemic health.
