She worked at VUB for the spring semester of 2013 in biometrics and thermal imaging.
Vassilis Anastassopoulos is a professor of the Electronics Laboratory, Physics Department, University of Patras, Greece. He received his B.Sc. degree in Physics in 1980 and his Ph.D. in Electronics in 1986, both from the University of Patras, Greece. From 1980 until 1985, he was employed as a Research Assistant in the Electronics Laboratory, University of Patras. From 1985 until 1987, he served in the Greek Army as a Research Scientist in the Communications and Information Department (CID) of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS). Since 1987, he has been a faculty member in the Electronics Laboratory, University of Patras, where in 2005 he was elected as a full professor. He has served on the scientific, technical, and organizing committees of various international conferences. His disciplines include electronics, digital signal and image processing, and programming. His research interests are within the scope of digital signal and image processing, radar signal detection, pattern recognition, remote sensing, handwriting analysis and biometrics, information fusion, super-resolution, and inverse problems. He has emphasized processing multi-spectral, SAR, and infrared imagery in handwriting analysis and biometrics, as well as information fusion including image fusion, decision fusion, and sensor fusion architectures.
