Russel J. Reiter a Professor of Cell Biology in the Department of Cell Systems and Anatomy at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, TX, USA. In addition to his Ph.D. degree, earned at Wake Forest University, he has received four honorary MD degrees and one honorary DSc degree from international universities. His research relates to the multiple receptor-independent and receptor-dependent actions of melatonin in humans, animals, and plants. He has received many awards for his research including the A. Ross McIntyre Gold Metal (USA), US Senior Scientist Award (Germany), Lizoni Lincee Award (Italy), Inaugural Aaron B. Lerner Pioneer Award (USA), Chulabhorn Royal Academy Medal (Thailand), etc. He has published numerous research papers, reviews, and chapters. Based on Google Scholar, and as of November 2023, his articles have been cited in the scientific literature more than 198,000 times and his h-index is 215. Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics has identified him as a Highly Cited Scientist (top 1%) and listed him as one of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds in 2014. Luiz Gustavo de Almeida Chuffa is a professor and researcher at the Department of Structural and Functional Biology (Anatomy section) at the Institute of Biosciences, Unesp, Campus Botucatu. His experience in the field includes morphology, with an emphasis on Anatomy, Histology and Cell Biology. The main focus of his research is devoted to the molecular aspects of carcinogenesis and functional treatments. More recently, his research group has been studying the variety of melatonin's action mechanisms on ovarian and breast cancers.

Alberto Dominguez-Rodriguez is a Clinical Cardiologist at Hospital Universitario de Canarias, Department of Cardiology, in Tenerife, Spain. He is the Director of Cardiology Research Group of Hospital Universitario de Canarias. Currently, he is a Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Europea de Canarias. He has received a PhD from the Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, 1998-2000.
