Jessica Janice Levick is a Lecturer of Occupational Therapy at the School of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Southern Queensland. She completed her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy (2013) and Bachelor of Science (Honours) (2016) at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). Whilst working as a mental health clinician, she saw a need to explore consumer engagement in leisure activity in mental health inpatient units. She completed a Doctor of Philosophy in 2022 at the University of Southern Queensland and has continued her work with Metro South Mental Health and Addiction Services. She continues to collaborate with the health service and research acute mental health environments. Throughout her career as an occupational therapist, she has worked in Queensland Health in the field of mental health with consumers who experience severe and complex mental health issues. For the past few years, she has primarily worked at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in the Emergency Department as a mental health clinician. She has worked as an academic casually since 2013 and obtained a permanent role in 2020 at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She came to UniSQ in 2022 and has been working to develop the new occupational therapy program.
Tawanda Machingura is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at the School of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Southern Queensland, Ipswich Australia. He received his BSc Honours in Occupational Therapy at the University of Zimbabwe in 1994 and earned his Ph.D. in Applied Psychology at Griffith Health, Griffith University in 2021. His PhD was on "The effectiveness of sensory modulation in adults with schizophrenia". He was an Assistant Director of Occupational Therapy at the Gold Coast University Hospital (2010–2016) and an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, Bond University (2016–2023).
