Ivana Lazarevic is a Full Professor of microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She has MD, MS, and PhD degrees and is a specialist in microbiology and a subspecialist in virology. Her research interests include viral genetic variability, hepatitis viruses, and antiviral resistance. As an author, she has published 52 papers, totalling 619 citations (h index = 12, Scopus data from 05/12/2023).
Ana Banko is an Associate Professor and Specialist in microbiology with parasitology at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Additionally, she is the principal investigator of the ROLERS scientific project (2020-2023), which includes research in virology, autoimmunity, rheumatology, human genetics, and EBV.  She completed her Ph.D. studies in Molecular Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2007.
Danijela Miljanovic is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She is a teacher, researcher, medical doctor, and Medical Microbiology specialist. Her main research area includes latent viral infections (polyomaviruses, herpesviruses) and their role in immunosuppressed patients, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. The genetic variability of BKV, EBV, and HBV and their role in medical importance regarding different diseases and conditions are also her research areas of interest.
Prof. Dr. Maja Cupic works full-time as a Full Professor at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She started her studies in medicine at the University of Belgrade in 1987, received her Master's degree in Clinical and Experimental Bacteriology in 1992, and completed her Virology Specialization in Microbiology with Parasitology in 1996, where she got her Doctorate in 2000. Her research interests are virology; viral infection of the genital tract and its connection with the emergence of perinatal infections; and viral infections in immunocompromised patients, following viral infections in transplant patients, and research in the field of interactions between genetic polymorphisms of cytokine genes and viral diseases, as well as their impact on the success of the anti-viral therapy. A special emphasis is on the research of some cytokine gene polymorphisms in the pathogenesis of HR HPV cervical disease.
