Vanvitelli, Naples, Italy, where she has been a faculty member since 2004. She completed her Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1997 at the University of Naples "Federico II", Italy. She was a Research Assistant in Biochemistry at the Basic and Applied Research Unit, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Oak Ridge, Tennessee (USA) in 1998. She worked as a Research Assistant in Biochemistry at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Campania L. Vanvitelli in Italy from 1999 to 2003. Her major research interests lie in the areas of molecular mechanisms of cellular redox homeostasis in the control of human chronic degenerative diseases, with particular regard to cancer and type 2 diabetes, and the biochemistry of bioactive naturally occurring food metabolites with antioxidant and anticancer properties. She is a member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
