Author Biographies

Linglin Li is Research Assistant of Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham. She is currently an EPSRC PDRA at the NTEC of the University of Nottingham. Before he moved to Nottingham, she was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at Aston University. She served as single PI on many prestigious research grants or fellowships, e.g., two Standard National Science Foundation of China grants (52278450, 51978229), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship project (789551), and one Early Career National Science Foundation of China grant (51408173).
Dr. YUE TANG is an Assistant Professor in Architecture and Urban Design, at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Nottingham. She graduated from the Architecture School, Tianjin University in China and received BEng in City Planning and Urban Design. She carried on her further higher education studies at the University of Nottingham for a Master's in Architecture and Urban Design. She has finished her Ph.D. in Architecture in 2012. She has been involved in teaching and tutoring in architecture and urban design studios in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment for the last 10 years and as a full-time member of academic staff since autumn 2008. She is mainly teaching modules for the MArch in Sustainable Urban Design course. Her research and teaching interests in sustainable urban design theory and practice; urban change and urban identity; public places and cities; sustainable dwelling and settlement in rural areas in China; industrial conservation and redevelopment in China; philosophies, theories and practices of the traditional Chinese architectural and urban design; urban spatial design strategies and approaches; historical conservation and regeneration in China; and social, cultural and historical sustainability. Her research focuses on the relationship between urban design theory and practice in various aspects.
