Dr. Maria Tolia, MD, MSc, is currently the director of the Department of Radiotherapy, at the University of Crete. In 2012, she earned her Master’s Degree at the University of Athens, School of Medicine, Greece, and in 2013 the PhD cum laude at the same university. Her scientific interests are focused on the study of gynecologic and head and neck cancers. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed original research articles in selected publications and 6 book chapters. She is a reviewer, Member of the Editorial Board of various medical journals, and Member of several Scientific and Organization Congress Committees as well as of several scientific societies.
Anna Batistatou is a Professor of Pathology, Director of the Department of Pathology, Chair of the Department of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, and President of the Hellenic Society of Pathology. She received her MD Degree from the University of Patras Medical School (1988). Her postgraduate studies are MA (1990), MPhil (1990), and PhD (1993) at Columbia University in the City of New York, GSAS. She has continuous diagnostic and research activities. Her research interests focus on the molecular pathogenesis of malignant neoplasms and the study of prognostic and predictive markers, mainly on tissues from patients with neoplasia. She has authored over 239 publications with total citations of 4974 and an h-index of 37 (Scopus).  She is also a National representative of Greece in the UEMS Specialist Section of Pathology/European Board of Pathology, a Member of the Educational Committee, and of the Advisory Board of European Society of Pathology.
Konstantinos H. Katsanos is an academic researcher and Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Ioannina. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Ioannina, Greece in 1994. Between 2005 and 2006, he served as a Clinical and Research Fellow at the U.Z Gasthuisberg K.U. Leuven, Belgium. Later in 2014-2015, he worked as a Short-term Scholar at the Henry D. Janowitz Division of Gastroenterology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Manhattan NY, USA. In July-August 2017, he also worked as a Short-term Scholar at the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He has authored over 346 publications, with a total citation count of 13,653 and an h-index of 54 (Scopus).
Davide Mauri is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Ioannina, Ioannina, Greece. His top areas of expertise are Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Acute Pain, Adult Soft Tissue Sarcoma, and Tissue Biopsy. He has an h-Index of 27, and his papers have been cited more than 3700 times (Scopus, 25 October 2023).
