Author Biographies

Andrea Borghesi is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Medical School and at the Dental School of the University of Brescia, Italy. He currently works at the Complex Operative Unit of Diagnostic Radiology 2 of the ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia. He is also the Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the Department of Medical and Surgical Specialties, Radiological Sciences and Public Health of the University of Brescia. With a high level of professional competence, he has been performing constant clinical/assistance and research activities, particularly in the areas of thoracic, cardiovascular, odontostomatology, head and neck diseases. His research in the field of pulmonary diseases focuses mainly on thoracic imaging (specifically, chest X-ray, computed tomography, and high-resolution computed tomography) with a special interest in quantitative CT analysis, low-dose CT imaging, COVID-19 pneumonia, pulmonary nodules, and imaging of interstitial lung disease.

Prof. Roberto Maroldi is currently Head of the Department of Radiology at the University of Brescia. He is a Professor of Radiology at the Medical School and at the School of Dentistry of the University of Brescia. He is also the Dean of the Radiography Undergraduate Course at the same university. His research interests are mainly in the areas of oncological aspects of head and neck lesions in several anatomic regions and the analysis and assessment of the diagnostic roles of CT and MR. Prof. Maroldi was born in Vicenza, Italy, but began his career in Verona where he studied at the Medical School of Verona, from which he graduated in 1979. In 1982, he moved to the Department of Radiology of the Medical School of Verona, which at that time had the late Prof. Antonio Chiesa as its director. In 1984, he received his certification as a radiologist from the same medical school. During this time, right up until 1986, he also edited the newsletter published by the informatics section of the Italian Society of Radiology, entitled Informa.
Davide Farina is a Full Professor of Radiology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Specialties, Radiological Sciences and Public Health, University of Brescia (UNIBS), Italy. He is also a Director at Radiology Unit 2, Spedali Civili di Brescia. He received specialist training in Radiology at the Department of Radiology, University Hospital of Brescia from 1996 to 2000. In 2013, he obtained a European Board in Head and Neck Radiology Diploma (EBiHNR), and in 2019, he obtained a renewal of the Diploma. His scientific activity focuses mostly on imaging applied to head and neck oncology and on cross-sectional cardiac imaging.
