Laura Vanagas is an Attached Researcher at CONICET and Head of UNSAM Practical Work. She is a Doctor from the UBA and graduated with a degree in Biology with an orientation toward Zoology. Her area of specialization is Molecular Parasitology. Her workplace is [INTECH] Chascomus Institute of Technology, which is dependent upon [CONICET] the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research and UNSAM San Martin National University.
Sergio O. Angel is a Ph.D. from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). After completing a postdoc at the Center for Molecular Biology Severo Ochoa, University of Madrid, Spain, in Carlos Alonso's laboratory, he joined the researcher's career at the National Research Council (CONICET) in Argentina (1996). Soon after, he began directing the Toxoplasmosis laboratory at the Malbran Institute, City of Buenos Aires. In 2004, he joined the staff of the Instituto Tecnológico Chascomús (INTECH), in the city of Chascomús, Province of Buenos Aires. Since then, he has directed the Molecular Parasitology Laboratory on issues related to cellular and molecular biology in Toxoplasma, as well as studies associated with diagnosis and epidemiology in collaboration with the Hospital of this city. Since INTECH is part of CONICET but also of the National University of General San Martin (UNSAM), he has become a Full Professor in the Agrobiotechnology career, teaching Molecular Biology. His interest in toxoplasmosis includes the epigenetic mechanism in the regulation of gene expression, the DNA damage repair mechanism and its
association with DNA replication stress, as well as the role of genes and transcripts of the subtelomeric region, in all cases in Toxoplasma.
