Dariia Kholiavchuk is currently an associate professor at the Department of Physical Geography, Geomorphology, and Paleogeography, at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. She completed her Ph.D. studies in constructive geography and rational natural resources management at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. Her topics of scientific research are focused on the study of climatic changes, bioclimatic assessment, microclimatic studies, and meteorological monitoring. She has been awarded the JESH-Stipendium by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Austrian Research Association from 2022 to 2023.
Stefan Mayr is a professor at the Department of Botany, University of Innsbruck, and also leads the research group of Ecophysiology. He has been awarded the Science Communication Prize FWF in 2006; the APART-Stipendium by the Austrian Academy of Sciences from 2004 to 2007; Wissenschaftskommunikationspreis FWF in 2006; the Scientific Award of the Princedom Liechtenstein in 2012; and Ars docendi—Staatspreis für exzellente Lehre—in 2015. His areas of interest include applied aspects such as restoration techniques, fruit trees, forest pathogens, wildfires in alpine forests, and the ecophysiology of urban trees.
