Jerzy J. Chruściel is an organosilicon and polymer chemist. His research deals with the synthesis of polymers and the characterization of different kinds of polymers and polymeric materials. At present, he is most often involved in research on the chemical and physical modification processes of the properties of textile materials using different methods. In 1971, he received his M.Sc. in the chemistry and technology of plastics, and in 1979, he obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry at Lodz University of Technology. His postdoctoral experience includes the following: (1) Department of Chemistry, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from 9 November 1982 to 31 December 1983; (2) Department of Chemistry, North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND, USA, from 12 January to 30 November 1984; (3) Department of Chemistry, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, from 10 May 1991 to 30 November 1992; and (4) Department of Chemistry, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, USA, from 1 December 1992 to 31 May 1994. He is an author and co-author of 47 scientific publications and 5 book chapters. In 2022, he wrote the book “Silicon-Based Polymers and Materials”.
