Dr. Rebeka Vital is an experienced senior lecturer at Shenkar School of Design, where she teaches for accredited degrees in Interior, Building and Environment Design, and leads innovative research in two main fields: lighting and cultural heritage. Dr. Vital has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, specializing in lighting and acoustics during her studies for her master’s degree in Building Science from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and holds a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Vital has published works in the last 20 years. These include collaborations with well-known universities in Europe, articles in the National Geographic and integrating multiple committees that are part of the European Union.
Stella Sylaiou is an assistant professor at the Department of Surveying Engineering and Geoinformatics of the International Hellenic University. She has carried out extensive research on experimental museology and digital heritage, with an emphasis on virtual museums. She is an expert in designing, applying, and evaluating digital solutions for cultural environments. She investigates the impact of emerging technologies on cultural industries as well as on meaning making and learning in museums and galleries. She has many years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Greece and abroad, has supervised M.Sc. students, and has participated in several EU-funded and National research projects. She has contributed to thirty-one papers in scientific journals, fifty-one papers at peer-reviewed conferences, and twelve book chapters. She was a guest editor for five special thematic issues in international journals.
