Dr. Kristina Kondrotiene currently works as a Lecturer at the Department of Food Safety and Quality, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. She obtained her Master's degree at the Kaunas University of Technology in 2013 and received her PhD at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2019. She is an experienced research professional with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is skilled in Microbiology, Chromatography, Lecturing, and Management. Her research keywords include Dairy, Lactococcus lactis, Bacteriocins, LAB, Microbiology and Food Safety, and Food Analysis.
Dr. Paulina Zavistanaviciute is a Lecturer from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Food Safety and Quality, and a Senior researcher at the Faculty of Animal Science, Institute of Animal Rearing Technologies, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. She received her PhD at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2021. She has contributed to research in the following topics: fermentation, encapsulation, food industry byproduct valorization, sustainability, formulation of novel food, and feed technologies. She has an h-index of 16 and co-authored 44 publications, receiving 765 citations (Scopus, 14 November 2023).
Jurgita Aksomaitiene currently works as a Lecturer at the Department of Food Safety and Quality, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kaunas, Lithuania, where she received her Master's degree, DVM in Veterinary Medicine, and Ph.D., respectively, in 2013, 2015, and 2019. She began her career in 2014. Her research interests are Microbiology, Genetics and Genome Biology, and Bioinformatics.
Dr. Aleksandr Novoslavskij is an Associate Professor at the Department of Food Safety and Quality of the Veterinary Academy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. His research areas include the prevention and control of bacteria (pathogens, zoonoses) relevant to veterinary, animal husbandry, and public health in food-producing animals. He has published 13 research papers in journals indexed in Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database (Frontiers in Microbiology, Food Control, Research in Veterinary Science, and others), and 7 scientific articles in other Lithuanian and foreign publications or peer-reviewed periodical scientific publications. He is a co-author of an educational book for students interested in food microbiology. He is a member of dissertation defense councils at several institutions of higher learning. So far, the results of his research have been presented at international conferences in Finland, France, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. He conducted research traineeships in Germany and Finland. He has participated in international and national scientific projects funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), the Research Council of Lithuania, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania. He is involved in international educative collaborations with Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan). He is a member of the Lithuanian Microbiological Society (LT-LMS) and the Lithuanian Veterinary Association.
Dr. Mindaugas Malakauskas is a Professor and the Head of Department of Food Safety and Quality at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, where he obtained his PhD in 2001. He has been the Chancellor of Veterinary Academy of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences since 2016. His research is focused on molecular epidemiology including WGS of foodborne pathogens and the use of biological active compounds for their control.
