Bik Kwoon Tye received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wellesley
College in 1969, a Master’s Degree from the University of California, San
Francisco in 1971, and a Ph.D. from MIT in 1974. She finished her Postdoctoral training
at the Stanford University in 1977. She was a Senior Member of the HKUST Jockey
Club Institute for Advanced Study from 2018-22. She is Professor emeritus and Professor of Graduate School at Cornell University. She uses diverse approaches that involve
cross-disciplinary collaborations to address problems in DNA replication in
eukaryotes. She is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences.
Yuanliang Zhai received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2010. After
graduation, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Life Science
at HKUST from 2011 to 2013 and then as a Research
Assistant Professor from 2013 to 2018. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Biological Sciences at The University of Hong Kong. His research
interests mainly focus on molecular mechanisms of organization and regulation
of eukaryotic DNA replication by using genetics, biochemistry, and
super-resolution imaging approaches including super-resolution localization microscopy
and advanced cryo-electron microscopy.
