Tomasz Kowalczyk is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Genetics, University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland. He completed his Ph.D. studies in Molecular Biotechnology and Genetics at the Medical University of Lodz and has been awarded Awards and Honors. His research interests include protein purification, PCR, cloning, DNA, cell culture, gel electrophoresis, electrophoresis, Western blot analysis, SDS-PAGE, and DNA extraction.
Janusz Piekarski is a Professor at the Department of Surgical Oncology, Chair of Oncology, Medical University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland. Additionally, he is the Head of the Oncological Surgical Clinic at the Medical University of Lodz. He mainly deals with patients with breast cancer, rare breast cancers, skin cancers, and head and neck cancers. His favorite part of surgery is surgery for parotid gland tumors.
Janusz Szemraj is a Molecular Biologist and Microbiologist. He graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences at the University of Lodz in 1980. He obtained his doctorate at the Department of Biochemistry, Medical University of Lodz (1993). He obtained his habilitation degree from the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Medical University of Lodz (2007). The title of professor of medical sciences is awarded by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland (2014). Since 2017, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of Lazarski University. His research areas include the molecular basis of lifestyle diseases (cancer, thromboembolism, and dementia) and the construction and analysis of the biological properties of drugs (antithrombotic, anticancer). He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the Polish Biochemical Society (PTBioch). He has patents for RGD k2 protein staphylokinase, a new recombinant protein with thrombolytic and antithrombotic properties. RP Patent.
Patrícia Rijo has a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL) and a Master and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical and Therapeutic Chemistry from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL). She is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences and Technologies (ECTS) at Universidade Lusófona (ULHT, Lisbon, Portugal), where she is responsible for Organic Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy and the international coordinator. The main area of research is medicinal chemistry, phytochemistry, and pharmacognosy, with an emphasis on the Chemistry of Natural Products. She is the director of Research and Innovation at CBIOS (Research Center for Biosciences and Health Technologies at Universidade Lusófona), where she leads the Laboratory of Natural Bioactives (Bio.Natural). Patrícia has published more than 140 articles in international journals, has more than 300 communications (oral and panel), has also presented as an invited speaker at national and international meetings and conferences, and has three registered patents.
Przemysław Sitarek is head of the Department of Medical Biology at the Medical University of Lodz. He completed his PhD in medical biology at the Medical University of Lodz and has received awards and prizes. His research interests include biomedicine, genetic engineering, recombinant proteins, medicinal plants, hairy roots, plant molecular biotechnology and plant biotechnology.
