Nikolaos Monokrousos is an Assistant Professor in Soil
Ecology at the University Center of International Programmes of Studies,
International Hellenic University (ΙΗU). Before joining IHU he was a researcher
at the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources, Hellenic Agricultural
Organization—Dimitra. He has been active in the field of Soil Ecology for over
15 years and his research interests are focused on the study of the soil
microbial community structure and functionality, the soil enzyme activity, and
their role in soil organic matter decomposition and nutrient cycling. Part of
his research is also focused on the study of soil free-living nematode communities,
aiming to study in-depth the relations and interactions of organisms that
belong to different levels of the soil food web.
Georgios K. Ntinas holds a Ph.D. degree from the School of
Agriculture (Department of Hydraulics, Soil Science and Agricultural
Engineering) of Aristotle University Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece (2012). Since
2017, he has been a Researcher at the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic
Resources (IPB&GR), Hellenic Agricultural Organization—Dimitra (ELGO-Dimitra),
Thessaloniki, Greece. In previous works, he studied a non-commercial CFD model
(AUTh) and gained experience in wind tunnel experiments (AU). He has also
worked with NH3 emissions in flux chambers (AU, INRA). His research focus lies on renewable energy strategies, micro-climate control and Life Cycle Assessment in greenhouses and livestock buildings.
