Cláudia Fernandes is a Landscape Architect with prior training in Agricultural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. She is an assistant professor at the University of Porto and group leader of the Landscape Planning, Design, and Management (LPDM) Research Group at the CIBIO Research Center. Her research interests include assessing, planning, designing, and managing a wide range of habitats, ecosystems, and landscapes, especially in urban environments. She is concerned with cities' resilience and adaptation to global changes, the social and ecological challenges of the future, and the role of trees and urban green spaces in this process.
Albano Figueiredo has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography and Tourism, University of Coimbra since 2013, and he is an integrated member of the Centre for Studies on Geography and Spatial Planning (CEGOT). He is currently engaged in degree, Master and Ph.D. programs, namely in their co-ordination, and is a scientific board member for the Master in Physical Geography and Environmental Studies of Coimbra University and for the LINK Ph.D. program. He earned his Master’s degree in Physical Geography and Environmental Studies and his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Coimbra in 2005 and 2013, respectively. Under the issue of climate change, he participated as a member of the co-ordination and scientific board, and in the preparation of the strategic plan dedicated to the adaptation to climate change for the Coimbra Region. He is a member of the coordination team for the validation of cartography for the habitats of the Portuguese Natura 2000 sites (POSEUR-03-2215-FC-000005 - L3).
