Prof. Maria Novella Romanelli is a Professor at the Department of Neurosciences, Psychology, Drug Research and Child Health (NEUROFARBA) of the University of Florence, Italy. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (CTF) with a grade of 110 cum laude from the University of Florence in 1982, and received a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in 1989. In 1998, she took up service as an Associate Professor in the field of CHIM/08-Pharmaceutical Chemistry, at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Florence, and became a Full Professor in 2001. From 2007 to 2014, she was the coordinator of the degree course in CTF at the University of Florence. From 2009 to 2014, she was a member of the scientific committee of the European School of Medicinal Chemistry (ESMEC) in Urbino. From 2013 to 2018, she was a member of the "Patent and intellectual property" committee of the University of Florence. She is the co-author of more than 170 papers, including articles, reviews, book chapters and patents.

Prof. Dina Manetti graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Florence in 1992. In 1993, she was awarded a scholarship from the company FIDIA S.p.A, and in 1994, she was awarded a scholarship from the company S.I.M.S.S.r.l. She obtained her Ph.D. in Drug Chemistry from the University of Florence in 1997. During 1998–1999, she received a post-doctoral scholarship from the University of Florence. She has been a researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Florence, since 1999, and currently, she works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Neurosciences, Psychology, Drug Research and Child Health (NEUROFARBA) of the University of Florence. Her scientific activity has focused on topics related to Pharmaceutical Chemistry, such as the design and synthesis of substances with pharmacological action to identify their pharmacophoric portion.
Giambattista Marotta is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Florence. He holds a Ph.D. (2023) from the University of Bologna and an integrated master’s degree (2018) from the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. During his doctoral studies, he was a Teaching Assistant in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Bologna and a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Barcelona.
Prof. Elisabetta Teodori graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1982, from the University of Florence, with a grade of 110 cum laude. In 1987, she received a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry (Cycle I) from the University of Florence. In 1992, she was confirmed as a Researcher at the University of Florence, and in 2002, she was confirmed as an Associate professor. She has been a full professor since 2006, and currently, she works at the Department of Neurosciences, Psychology, Drug Research and Child Health (NEUROFARBA) of the University of Florence. She has also been the Chair of the Bachelor of Science Single-Cycle Degree Program in Pharmacy since 2018. She is the author of more than 140 publications in international journals and numerous communications at international and national conferences. Her scientific activity mainly concerns the design, synthesis and study of multidrug resistance (MDR) reversers acting through the blockade of efflux pumps in cancer and bacterial cells and carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, nicotinic and HCN-channel ligands, calcium channel (N and L type) ligands, muscarinic ligands, G protein modulators and nootropics.
