Gianluca Giavaresi's credentials include a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Bologna (1990), a licence to practise medicine from the University of Bologna School of Medicine (1990), registration in the Bologna Order of Surgeons Register (1991), a Master's degree in biostatistics at Level II from the University of Bologna (2016), and a specialty in emergency and emergency surgery from the University of Bologna (1995). He is the author and co-author of scientific articles and abstracts presented at conferences and book chapters. Of these, 351 (SCOPUS) of these articles are indexed by Index Medicus and/or SCI. Its H-index is 59. His fields of interest are regenerative and reparative medicine, oncology, and prosthetic surgery. Since 2014, he has been coordinating research activities at the Omics Scientific Platform for Personalised Orthopaedics, and since July 2022, he has been the acting director of Surgical Science and Technology, both facilities of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli based in Bologna, Italy.

Francesca Salamanna received a Ph.D. from the University of Bologna and a license to practice the profession of Biologist from the University of Bologna.
