Ana Luísa De Sousa-Coelho completed a PhD in the Doctoral Program in Biomedicine of the Universitat de Barcelona in 2012, a Masters in Molecular Biotechnology at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2007, and a Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Coimbra Faculdade de Farmácia in 2005. She is an Invited Adjunct Professor at the Universidade do Algarve and Researcher at the Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute.
Gil Fraqueza completed a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with a Specialty in Inorganic Biochemistry at the University of Algarve in 2013, a Master’s in Food Technology/Quality at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2007 and a Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Chemical-Biological Analysis Branch,
Universidade Clássica de Lisboa, in 1988. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in Food Engineering in the Department of Instituto Superior de Engenharia of Universidade do Algarve and a researcher at the Centro de Ciências do Mar (CCMAR), Universidade do Algarve. His main research interests are in Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, and Biochemistry. He has 18 publications with 299 citations and has reviewed around 240 peer reviewer articles for around 30 different scientific journals.
Manuel Aureliano is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry (with aggregation) in the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Algarve (UAlg), Portugal. At UAlg, he served as director and vice-director of
the Biochemistry degree. He graduated with a Degree in Biochemistry, a Masters in Cellular Biology, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry (specialty in Bioenergetics) from the University of Coimbra. He has been a director and member of the Biochemistry degree course committee (UAlg) for 15 years. He has been a researcher at CCMar since 2006 and a member of the board of directors of the Portuguese Biochemistry Society (SPB) since 2012. He is regularly a peer reviewer (over 700 papers) for numerous scientific journals (more than 100 journals) and has served on the Editorial Boards of several journals. He has been the author and co-author of about 110 peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. He was included in
the “World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists” list of the world’s most influential scientists.
