Dr. Martin Rühl is currently working for Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen,
Institut für Lebensmittelchemie and Lebensmittelbiotechnologie. He has 81
publications with 1007 citations (ResearchGate, 3 November). His skills and
expertise include enzyme technology, food biotechnology, molecular biology, food
chemistry, food analysis, food science and technology, and microbiology.
Dr. Patrick Klüber is currently working on strategies for the use of plant-based industrial side streams as feed sources of the black soldier fly (BSF), Hermetia illucens. Hereby, he analyzes the life-history traits of immature and adult life stages. As microorganisms, especially bacteria and fungi, are known to play a crucial role in dietary breakdown and thus affect the broad substrate spectrum of BSF larvae, he uses culture-dependent and independent approaches to characterize their microbiome. In addition, he is highly interested in putative entomopathogens and their role in commercial insect rearing.
