Hui Li is a Chair Professor at The Education University of Hong Kong and an Honorary Professor in Early Childhood at Macquarie University, Australia. He received his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include (but are not limited to) developmental cognitive neuroscience, developmental psycholinguistics, early literacy, curriculum and pedagogy, policy, school leadership, and teacher education. His research methods include mixed methods, longitudinal study, corpus, and fNIRS. He is the Associate Editor of Early Child Development and Care, Early Education and Development, Frontiers in Psychology, Sustainability (Educational Section), and the Executive Editor of Human Behaviour and Brain. He also serves on the editorial board of six international peer-reviewed journals: Contemporary Issues in Early Childhood, ECNU Review of Education, International Journal of Child Care and Education Policy, International Journal of Early Years Education, Journal for the Study of Education and Development, and Springer-Nature Social Sciences. According to Google Scholar, he has a track record of 302 academic publications, including 236 journal articles, 11 books, 43 chapters, and 12 conference papers. Since 2021, he has been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. He was also listed by The Australian as the National Leading Researcher (top 1) in the field of social sciences (social work) in 2023.
