Christian J. Wiedermann graduated in medicine from the University of Innsbruck. He completed his clinical training in Germany, Italy, and at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. His research fellowships in the USA included the National Institute of Health, Bethesda, and Cornell University Medical College, New York. He has served as the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Innsbruck and Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Central Hospital of Bolzano. Between 2017 and 2020, he was Medical CEO of Tirol Kliniken GmbH. In 2020, he returned to academia as a research associate at the Institute of General Practice and Public Health, Claudiana-College of Health Professions. He is also an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck. His previous research focused on neuro-immune-endocrinology, inflammation, vascular biology, bioethics, and drug safety.
