Dr. José Montero Cabezas is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology, Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands. His skills and expertise include interventional cardiology, transcatheter aortic valve implantation, complex coronary interventions and mechanical support devices.
Frederikus A. Klok is an Internist with a specialty in Vascular Medicine. He is a clinical staff member of the Department of Medicine at the Leiden University Medical Center (Leiden, the Netherlands) and a visiting Professor at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis of the University of Mainz (Mainz, Germany). He chairs the LUMC committee Good Research Practice and Committee for Selection and Admission of the Bachelor and Master Programs of Medicine, as well as the Dutch Society of Vascular Medicine, Dutch Thrombosis Network, and is chair-elect of the ESC workgroup on pulmonary circulation and right ventricular function. His main research interests are the diagnostic management of acute venous thrombosis as well as the prediction and treatment of long-term complications of venous thrombosis.
Floris S. Van den Brink received his M.D. from the University of Amsterdam and received his Ph.D. from the University of Maastricht. He completed his cardiology training at St. Antonius Ziekenhuis in Nieuwegein. He completed a fellowship in ECMO/AICU at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden. Currently, he works as a cardiologist/fellow adult intensive care at the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, the Netherlands. He has been a speaker at various congresses, domestic and abroad, and has authored articles on a range of subjects. His main research focus is the use of ECMO for the treatment of cardiogenic shock, especially in the setting of percutaneous coronary interventions. In 2022, he became a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).
