Mayuko Nakagawa received her Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2012 and her M.Sc. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2009. She is a biochemist at the Earth–Life Science Institute (ELSI) based at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. She is also a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor. Her specialized field focuses on geochemistry/astrochemistry (material recycling, biosphere geochemistry, and atmospheric and hydrospheric chemistry).
Shuo Cheng is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Transdisciplinary Science and Engineering, School of Environment and Society, Tokyo Institute of Technology. She conducts research on environmental Toxicology and supervises graduate students’ research. She received a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Technology from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2016. After two years of research in the School of Environment at Tsinghua University, China, she returned to the Tokyo Institute of Technology to teach and undertake research. She is fluent in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and looks forward to working with students, visitors, and fellows from overseas on research projects. Her research interests include hazardous waste treatment, environmental/ecotoxicology, and microbial fuel cells.
