Alessandra Oliva is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health and Infectious Diseases, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and an infectious diseases physician at Azienda Ospedaliera-Universitaria Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, Italy. She received her Ph.D. in “Scienze Infettivologiche” at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. She is a member of the Italian Society of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (SIMIT), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), American Society of Microbiology (ASM), British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC), and Società Italiana di Terapia Antibiotica (SITA). She has authored more than 100 articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include multi-drug resistant bacteria, nosocomial infections, clinical microbiology, and infectious diseases.
Mario Venditti is a full professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at
“Sapienza” University. He is the head of the “Nosocomial Infections” Program
Unit of the Policlinico Umberto I University Hospital. He is vice president of
the Italian Group for Antimicrobial Stewardship and a member of the board of
the Italian Society of Anti-Infective Therapy. His research interests include
new infectious syndromes and emerging pathogens, infective endocarditis,
antimicrobial chemotherapy, antibiotic resistance, epidemiology, clinics, and
therapy for nosocomial infections.
