Prof. Dr. Nelson Caro holds a Master in Business Management, an MBA, a Diploma in High Management, a Doctor of Nutrition and Food with a mention in Food Sciences and Technology (University of Chile), a Master's in Biochemistry and Biochemistry (UNAB), and is an industrial Microbiologist (INACAP). From 2016 to date, he has been the principal director and researcher of the Center for AustralBiotech Research of the Santo Tomás University being responsible for the Directorate and management of the Research. From December 2012 to date, he has been an associate researcher at the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Chile, being responsible for the formulation, development and in vitro, evaluation of micro and nano encapsulated with a controlled release, physicochemical and structural studies of new types of polymer matrix and materials for the design of networkers, and active packaging and co-direction of a thesis. In addition, he serves as a specialized adviser to TENETSOUTH S.A, where he works on the development of an in vitro model of analog solution of human saliva and an in vitro model of bacterial plaque for testing of a retracted bioadhesive system developed from hydrocolloids.

Marcela Urzúa completed her Ph.D. (Chemistry) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in 2000 and her post-doctoral at the Universidad of Chile in 2003. She was an Instructor Professor at the Universidad of Chile from 2003 to 2007 and was an Assistant Professor from 2007 to 2018. She became an Associate Professor at the University of Chile in 2019. Her research area is the Physical Chemistry of polymers in solution and the solid-state; Surface Chemistry and polyelectrolytes in interfaces; Synthesis and characterization of polymers; and Physicochemical characterization of surfaces and Interfaces.
Dr. Annia Rodríguez-San Pedro is currently Associate Professor at Universidad Santo Tomás, Santiago, Chile. She is also the Associate Researcher of the Centro de Investigación e Innovación para el Cambio Climático (CiiCC) de la Universidad Santo Tomás. She is a Bat researcher and conservationist. She completed her Ph.D. studies at the University of Chile. She has developed research associated with the Ecology of Fragmented Environments, Conservation Biology, Bioacoustics, Ecology and Conservation of Bats, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Productive Environments and Landscape Ecology.
