Federica Valeriani received her Ph.D. in Public Health from
the Department of Sport Sciences, and Human Health at the University of Rome
"Foro Italico" in 2013. She currently is an Associate Professor at the
Department of Movement, Human and Health Sciences, Laboratory of Epidemiology
and Biotechnologies, University of Rome “Foro Italico”. Her research interests
mainly focus on epidemiology, health promotion, environmental research issues
applied to sport and/or physical activity and adapted physical activity,
environmental microbiology, studies of environmental microflora, hygiene in indoor
environments, safety of recreational and swimming pool waters, studies of microbiological indicators, studies of guidelines and epidemiological surveys in public health, studies of pathogens
transmitted through the water, and issues related to water treatment and
disinfection.
Vincenzo Romano Spica is a Medical Geneticist who received his M.D. from "A. Gemelli" Catholic University Medical School, in Rome, Italy, in 1990. He worked in USA and European research centres and is currently a Full Professor of Public Health at the
Department of Movement Sciences, Humanities and Health
Sciences, at the State University of Rome "Foro Italico", Italy, where has been leading the Epidemiology and Biotechnology Laboratory since 2003. His research aim is centered on the application of recent acquisitions in the field of molecular genetics and biotechnology to
public health and preventive medicine, focusing on environmental epidemiology and health promotion.
