Author Biographies

Andrey V. Letarov is a Professor at Winogradsky Institute of Microbiology, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Moscow, Russia. His research interests mainly focus on the Structure, functioning and adaptation of bacteriophage adsorption apparatus; Bacteriophage ecology in natural symbiotic and free-living high-density bacterial communities; Bacteriophage resistance mechanisms in bacteria blocking phage adsorption and mechanisms used by phages to overcome such resistance; Biological diversity of phages; and Structure of microbial and viral communities in meromictic lakes and interactions of bacteria and viruses in these communities.
