Małgorzata Knapp is currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of Cardiology, Medical University of Białystok, Białystok, Poland. She has twenty years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Her research interests include cardiovascular systems and cardiology, research and experimental medicine, biochemistry and molecular biology, cell biology, and physiology. She is a member of the Board the of Association Group of Echocardiography of the Polish Cardiac Society. Her scientific output includes 92 publications corresponding to 1002 citations, with an h-index of 19 (Scopus, 20 November 2023).
Jan Gorski is currently working as a professor at the Department of Physiology, Medical University of Białystok, Białystok, and Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Łomża, Poland. He is a physiologist specializing in the study of the metabolism of energy substrates in skeletal muscles and in the heart muscle. He is the author of over 300 scientific papers published mainly in international journals, and is the editor of three academic textbooks: The Physiological Basis of Physical Exercise, Human Physiology, and Physiology of Exercise and Physical Training. He has promoted 31 doctors of science and been the guardian of nine habilitators. He was previously the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Physiological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Vice-President of the Main Board of the Polish Physiological Society, and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Scientific Center for Railway Medicine. He is an active member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
